How to connect to your VEIN Server
How to Connect to Your VEIN Dedicated Server
If your VEIN server is already online and configured, connecting is quick and easy. You can join directly through the in-game console using your server’s IP address and port, or browse and favorite it through the Steam Server Browser.
Method 1: Direct Connect (Using the In-Game Console)
-
Launch VEIN.
-
Once in the main menu, press the ` (tilde) key on your keyboard to open the in-game console.
-
In the console, type the following command and press Enter:
Example:
-
If your server is password-protected, you’ll be prompted to enter it before joining.
-
After a short loading screen, you’ll enter your server’s world and be ready to play.
If the connection fails, double-check that the server is online and that you’re using the correct IP and port. You can also confirm that the server is set as public (bPublic=True) and the proper ports are open and forwarded on your host machine.
Method 2: Steam Server Browser
-
Open Steam and launch VEIN.
-
From the main menu, select Join Multiplayer, then open the Server Browser.
-
Use the search bar to find your server by name (as set in
ServerName=) or by entering its IP. -
Once your server appears, select it and click Join.
-
Enter the password if required, and you’ll connect directly to your world.
If you don’t see your server in the list, ensure it’s public (bPublic=True) and confirm the Steam query port (often 27015) is open and properly configured.
Adding the Server to Your Steam Favorites
To make future connections faster, add your VEIN server to your Steam Favorites list:
-
In the Steam Server Browser, right-click your server (or click the star icon) and select Add to Favorites.
-
You can also do this outside the game: in Steam, go to View → Servers → Favorites → Add a Server, then enter your server’s IP and port.
-
Once added, your server will always appear under the Favorites tab in both Steam and in-game, allowing for quick one-click access next time you play.
