How can I start a new world on my Valheim server?
To wipe your server's world's save progress and start fresh, you can delete the save files and restart your server, or set new save files so you can keep your old progress and go back to it later.
Wipe current files forever:
Login to your server's control panel at http://cp.chicagoservers.co and navigate to your server. Open the File Manager and navigate to the following directory:
.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/Worlds
Hold CRTL and right click the four green files then right click on them and click delete.
Restart the server and new files will be generated.
Save current files and start fresh:
For this process you do not need to do anything in the file manager.
Login to the control panel and navigate to Configuration Files.
Next to start_valheim.sh, click Configuration Editor
Edit the world name as pictured below, save, and restart your server.
Your previous files will remain, and you can always switch back to them later. New world files with the new name will be generated.
