How to Install Mods on a Satisfactory Game Server

Mods can enhance your Satisfactory server experience by adding new features and gameplay elements. This guide will walk you through the steps to install mods onto your Satisfactory server using FTP and files from Ficsit.app.

Step 1: Access Your Server via FTP

  1. Open Filezilla – If you don’t have Filezilla installed, download and install it from here.
    1. We have a guide on how to obtain your login details and connection info for your server located here.
  2. Enter FTP credentials – Use the FTP login details provided in your ChicagoServers client area. This includes the FTP IP address, username, and password.
  3. Click Quickconnect to establish a connection with your server.

Step 2: Navigate to the Correct Directory

  1. Once connected to your server via Filezilla, locate the server-side files (right-hand side).
  2. Navigate to the factorygame folder.
  3. Inside the factorygame folder, create a new folder and name it Mods. This is where you'll place all mod files.

Step 3: Download Mods from Ficsit.app

  1. Head over to Ficsit.app, the official mod repository for Satisfactory.
  2. Browse or search for the mod you wish to install.
  3. In the upper-right corner of the mod’s page, click on View Versions.
  4. Under the Download dropdown, select Download Linux Server. Ensure you download the version compatible with your server.
  5. Repeat this process for each mod you want to install.

Step 4: Upload Mods to Your Server

  1. In Filezilla, on the left-hand side (your PC), navigate to your Downloads folder (or wherever the mods were saved).
  2. Select all the mod files or folders you downloaded.
  3. Drag and drop these files into the Mods folder you created on the right-hand side (server side).

Step 5: Restart Your Server

  1. Once the mod files have been uploaded, restart your Satisfactory server for the mods to take effect.

Troubleshooting

  • If mods don’t appear to work, double-check that you’ve downloaded the correct Linux server version of the mods.
  • Ensure the mod files are placed correctly in the Mods folder.
  • Restarting the server after installing mods is essential for changes to take effect.
