How to import your pre-existing Palworld server world

** If you are migrating from a Windows machine/server:

You will need to follow this guide to re-work your files before moving them over to our environment, which is based on Linux. If your current server is a Linux machine, then you don't need to follow this part and can skip to the next step.

Uploading an Existing World

  1. Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Connect to your server using an external FTP program, we recommend FileZilla.
  3. Navigate to /Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0, then open the last folder which will usually be named a random string of characters. You will need to already have the files you wish to import either locally or from another host.

  4. Delete all the files within this folder, they will need to be replaced by your existing world files.

Consider downloading or backup these files if you would like to use them again in the future, but they cannot be in this folder anymore.

  5. Upload your existing world files, excluding the WorldOption.sav file, to the now empty server directory.

If you upload the WorldOption.sav file, your server configuration options will be completely overridden.

  6. Start your server.

* This works for some customers and others it doesn't. Remember, this game is in pre-release and world corruption saves have been reported in some cases.
