Known Palworld Server Bugs/Common Fixes
Palworld Server Known Problems & Solutions
As Palworld is currently in its early access phase, numerous issues affect both players and server owners. This guide aims to concisely outline these issues, offer crucial context, and provide potential solutions for any problems you might encounter with your Palworld server. It's important to note that developers are actively addressing these issues, so stay updated through their social channels, such as the Discord server, for patch notes and news.
Palworld Server Lag and Memory Leaks
Lag on Palworld dedicated servers is a common issue acknowledged by developers, attributed to sub-optimal CPU and memory usage optimizations inherent in early access games. These optimization errors are expected to be gradually resolved with each upcoming update. If you're experiencing server lag or memory leaks, consider the following options:
- Regularly restart your server: Early versions of the game may suffer from memory leaks, necessitating frequent restarts to maintain efficient performance. Scheduled restarts every 2-3 hours are recommended.
- Upgrade server specifications: Explore RAM and CPU upgrade packages to allocate more resources to your server temporarily. However, due to memory leaks, this is not a permanent solution.
- Contact support: Reach out to the support team if your server's node is resource-intensive or if there are issues not covered here.
We have implemented a world backup feature directly in the control panel which allows you to take unlimited backups of your server as often as 30 minutes. Backups older than 7 days will be removed.
Server Not Found on Server List
Many Palworld players struggle to find their desired server on the in-game list due to poor filtering options and a limited display of 200 entries. To circumvent this, it's advisable to disregard the server list until it's fixed and instead directly connect to your Palworld server. Follow steps provided in an article on how to join your Palworld server.
Passwords Not Working Correctly
Setting a password to make your Palworld server private can lead to connection issues due to a game bug. Until this is fixed, it's recommended not to use a password but instead grant yourself admin permissions to manage unwanted players. Keep an eye on patch notes for updates on password issues.
Character Data Wipes When Transferred
Transferring a locally hosted world to your server results in a wipe of the host character's data. To mitigate this problem, store the host player's items in the world before uploading, though experience and technology advancements will be lost.
