How to upload pre-existing 7DTD world to our servers
Note: The version that the world was generated on that you want to upload must match the current version your server is running.
Find the Player Folder for your Local Game:
A fast way to find the local files on your computer, is to open the Steam launcher and right-click the game in the Steam library and choose "Properties". Then click the "Local files" tab and then click the "Browse Local Files". This will open a window showing the location of the Pixark game files on your computer.
- Every world you generate is saved in its own folder that can usually be found in C:\Users\<UserID>\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves if you are hosting on your personal computer. If you are transferring from another hosting company, it will be a different route. They will be able to assist you in locating it.
* If you are transferring files from another server, you will need to locate the save folder on the other machine. - Log into your server control panel > game servers > select your server
- Using FTP, drag and drop the save folders to the new server
- If you are new to FTP, read the article here which explains how to connect to your server's FTP.
- You should see .local\7DaysToDie\Saves\map-name\Your world name, come out of file manager and go into configuration files > configuration editor and edit the mainconfig.xml config under Configuration Files
- Set "Game World" in mainconfig.xml to the same name of the folder immediately under Saves.
- Set the "Game Name" field to the exact name of your saved World in the folder below the map-name
- Example - World uploaded is Saves\Secexe County\my world name, you would enter "my world name" in the game name field
- Set seed and map size to the same values on the server / PC the world was generated on
- Save config and start your server.

Uploading the files:
-
The directory you upload the world folders to depends on what type of map you have. If you have a pre-existing RWG or Navezgane world, upload them to ./local/share/7DaysToDie/saves folder (In the FTP program)
* If the .local folder doesn't appear, you'll need to enable hidden folders/files as pictured below:
If you have a world that you generated it needs to go in /Data/Worlds (Also referred to as the Generated Worlds folder). If you are not sure what type of world you have, there is no harm in uploading the folder you have to both above listed folders. -
Drag your save folder into that folder. You should see a 'Navezgane' folder name by default. If your current map name is a PREGEN or Navezgane, you'll want to upload to the appropriate folder, depending on what type of map your world is.
-
Once it's uploaded, you'll need to set your server to start up with it. Navigate to Configuration Files and then edit mainconfig.xml.

Set "Game World" in mainconfig.xml to the same name of the folder immediately under Saves.
- Set the "Game Name" field to the exact name of your saved World in the folder below the map-name
