How do I upload a Nitrogen world to my 7 Days to Die Server?

  1. How to Upload a Nitrogen 7 Days to Die World

If you’re using the Nitrogen World Generator to create a custom RWG world, follow these steps:

    1. Download and Install Nitrogen:

    2. Select and Note Settings:

      • During the generation process, note the settings you use, such as:

        • The world name.

        • The seed.

        • The world size.

      • If you select CompoPack for prefabs, ensure that the CompoPack mod matching your server version is installed using a mod manager.

    3. Upload the World Folder:

      • Connect to your server via an FTP client.

      • Navigate to 7DaysToDie/Data/Worlds/ on your server.

      • Upload the generated world folder (e.g., NitrogenWorld) to this directory.

    4. Update Server Configuration:

      • Open serverconfig.xml or use the configuration manager in your control panel.

      • Set GameWorld to the name of the uploaded Nitrogen world folder (e.g., NitrogenWorld).

      • Set GameName to the desired name that will appear in-game under the map column.

      • Ensure the WorldGenSeed and WorldGenSize settings match those used in the Nitrogen generator.

    5. Start the Server:

      • Restart the server and ensure that the console logs indicate the custom world has loaded successfully.

    Troubleshooting Tips

    • Version Mismatch: If the server doesn’t load your world, double-check the game version compatibility.

    • Missing Files: Ensure both the Saves and GeneratedWorlds folders (for RWG) are uploaded completely.

    • Configuration Errors: Verify that GameWorld and GameName settings match the uploaded files precisely.

By following this guide, you can easily bring your custom or pre-existing worlds to life on your ChicagoServers-hosted 7DTD server. For further assistance, contact our support team!
