How to upload your own world or start a new one on your Enshrouded server

Your Enshrouded server keeps its world in the savegame folder. You can replace it with a world from your own game, or start over with a new one.

Uploading a world from your computer

  1. In Enshrouded, open Play and note the tab (Local or Steam) and the slot of the world you want. Slot 1 is the file world0.ksd, slot 2 is world1.ksd, and so on.
  2. Find that file on your computer:
    • Local worlds: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\keen games\Enshrouded\default
    • Steam worlds: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\, then your numbered folder, then 1203620\remote
  3. Copy it somewhere and rename the copy to world0.ksd.
  4. Stop the server, and make a backup on the Backups tab.
  5. Open the Files tab and go to savegame. Delete the world0.ksd that's there and upload yours.
  6. Start the server.

Leave the other folders in savegame alone. A world from before Enshrouded 1.0 (files with names like 3ad85aea) needs to be opened once in the game first, so it's converted.

Starting a new world

  1. Open the Updates tab and click Install next to Start a new world.
  2. The current world is moved aside to a folder named savegame-old- and the date, and the server starts a new world. Your settings and roles stay the same.

To go back to the old world, stop the server, then on the Files tab rename (or delete) the new savegame folder and rename the old one back to savegame.
