TShock is a server mod for Terraria that adds admin commands, permissions, anti-cheat and plugins. Your server can run it with one click.
Switching to TShock
- Sign in to the control panel at panel.chicagoservers.co and open your Terraria server.
- Open the Startup tab and choose the TShock launch profile.
- Leave TShock version on
latest. Only type a release (such asv6.2.1) if you need that exact one: it must be made for the Terraria version your players have. - Click Save startup, then Restart at the top of the page.
TShock follows Terraria releases, so for a while after a new Terraria version comes out, players on that version may not be able to join until a TShock release for it is out. If your TShock needs updating to a newer release, open a ticket and we'll help.
New worlds made under TShock start as Classic. To change the world's difficulty, use TShock's /worldmode command in the game once you're the owner.
Making yourself the owner
- When TShock starts for the first time, it writes a setup code in the Console tab. It's also saved in
tshock/setup-code.txton the Files tab. - Join the server and type
/setupfollowed by that code in chat. - Create your account:
/user add YourName YourPassword owner, then sign in with/login YourName YourPassword. - Type
/setupagain to turn the setup code off.
From then on, sign in with /login when you join. Other players can make their own accounts with /register.
Settings and plugins
TShock's settings are on the Configs tab, under TShock config (made on the first start). Plugins are .dll files: stop the server, upload them to the ServerPlugins folder on the Files tab, and start it again. Plugins must be made for your TShock version.
To go back to the official server, choose the Vanilla profile on the Startup tab. Your worlds are kept.
