How to Load a Map on your s&box Server

12538 views

This guide explains how to load a map on your s&box server. Maps determine the environment your server runs and can be selected from a wide range of community-created content.

You can browse and find maps on theΒ s&box UGC, then set your chosen map in the Config section of your panel. The steps below will walk you through selecting and applying a map so it loads correctly on your server.

Selecting a Map to Use

You can locate your desired map on the community workshop for s&box,Β here. In this example, we will be using the map "Flatgrass".

Configuring the Map on the Server

  1. Access yourΒ Control PanelΒ and navigate to theΒ ConfigΒ tab.
  2. Locate theΒ MapΒ option and set it to the map identifier. This follows the formatΒ author.map_name, which you can find in the map's URL - e.g.Β sbox.game/facepunch/flatgrassΒ β†’Β facepunch.flatgrass.
  3. Create a newΒ CommandlineΒ under theΒ Commandline Manager, which will look something like this:

  4. Save the commandline andΒ Select it and the server will be restarted with that game.
